Plumbing emergencies are, sadly, a reality from time to time for home owners and commercial operators in the inner west. At 888 plumbing Solutions, we operate a 24 hour plumber service meaning that we are available to customers with their plumbing emergency at any time of the day or night. It can be extremely worrying to have a serious plumbing problem at 2 in the morning and it is extremely reassuring to know that help is only a phone call away. Plumbing emergencies cover a variety of scenarios. They include burst pipes. Having a water pipe burst can mean that there is considerable risk of water damage to a property. Water from a burst pipe is capable of damaging a premises flooring, skirting boards, carpets, electrical appliances and equipment, damage walls, ruin furniture and make a home totally unlivable. It is well known that water and electricity don’t mix. If a damaged or burst water pipe allows water ingress into electrical wiring or ducting systems there could be a risk of electrocution or electrical short circuits and it is very important to repair the systems promptly from a safety perspective.
Emergency Plumbing – Blocked Toilets
Another plumbing emergency we get to see in inner west homes is blocked toilets. Having a blocked toilet for families or businesses is extremely inconvenient. You obviously cannot predict when a toilet will block and having the ability to call for plumbing ‘back up’ is very reassuring! We have the latest technology and fault finding equipment to locate the source of the blocked toilet or blocked drain and the majority of issues with blockages in sewer lines can be fixed relatively quickly with minimum of disturbance to the household of commercial entities operations. It may be that if we are called out at night to a client with problems of not being able to flush their toilet, that we can get the toilet or drainage system up and running temporarily so that the toilet can be immediately used and then return the next day to do an in depth investigation of the sewer line, toilet pan, collars and access points to exactly locate the root cause of the issue and repair it. It may be that tree roots have grown into the sewer line causing toilet blockages. In inner west Sydney homes we find that many sewer lines could be close to 80 to 100 years old and root ingress into clay sewer pipes is commonplace. We can inspect the sewer line using our CCTV camera system which is fed into the sewer line allowing us to clearly see the cause of the issue. We can then, in many instances use our water jetter to clear the tree roots that have grown into the sewer pipes.
Major water damage can also occur to building from roof leaks during the occasional Sydney torrential downpour. We have seen ceilings collapse as a result of substantial water ingress caused by leaking roofs. We are very experienced in fault finding roof leaks which can be very difficult to pin point at times, whilst at other times the cause can be as simple as a broken roof tile, a rusted through galvanised iron roofing sheet or a section of roof flashing that has weathered and deteriorated over the years.
